Setting up an AI voice agent used to mean months of development, expensive integrations, and an IT team. Today, the process takes about 10 minutes. Here's exactly how to do it with Callys.ai.
Sign up at callys.ai with your email. You'll get a 14-day free trial — no credit card required. Once you're in, you'll land on your dashboard.
Navigate to Settings and fill in your business details: - Business name (this is how your AI will introduce itself) - Greeting message ("Thank you for calling [Name], how can I help you?") - Choose a voice — pick from English voices or, for SEA markets, Malay, Mandarin, Indonesian, Thai, or Filipino voices - Set your fallback number (calls that can't be handled by AI will transfer here) - Add your after-hours message
This is the foundation. Get your greeting right — it sets the tone for every call.
This is where your AI gets smart about your business. Go to Knowledge Base and add Q&A pairs:
- Q: What are your opening hours? / A: We're open Monday to Saturday, 10am to 8pm. - Q: Where are you located? / A: We're at [address], opposite [landmark]. - Q: How much does [service] cost? / A: Prices start from $[X]. Our most popular package is... - Q: Do you accept walk-ins? / A: Yes, though we recommend booking in advance.
Add 10–20 Q&As to start. You can always add more as you discover what customers ask. The more you add, the smarter your agent becomes.
Click "Launch Agent" in Settings. Callys.ai will provision your AI voice assistant on the Vapi platform and assign it to your phone number. This takes about 30 seconds.
Once launched, your phone number is live. Any call to that number will be answered by your AI.
Call your business number from your personal phone. You should hear your greeting and be able to ask questions. Try: - Asking about your opening hours - Requesting a booking - Asking a question that's not in your knowledge base (to see how the AI handles it)
If something sounds off, go back to Settings and adjust your greeting or knowledge base.
Every call is logged in your Call Logs dashboard with the caller's number, duration, and a full transcript. You can review these daily to see what customers are asking, spot gaps in your knowledge base, and improve over time.
Bookings made during calls appear in your Bookings dashboard automatically.
- Check your call logs daily for the first week to spot any questions the AI couldn't answer - Add those unanswered questions to your knowledge base - Listen to a few call transcripts to hear how your AI sounds to customers - Share the number with your team so they know calls are being handled
Setting up takes 10 minutes. The improvement to your business starts immediately.
